The Norfolk Mead Hotel in Coltishall is a real belter of a place to get hitched. Just North of Norwich this gorgeous venue is tucked down the bottom of a country lane, sitting right on the bootiful Norfolk broads. No wonder Jo & Steve chose to get married here. A cool and classy couple, and genuinely gorgeous people. I think they married up (pardon the pun) with the venue perfectly, which is sleek, modern and fresh set in stunning surroundings. We all got on so well and it was a real joy photographing their day. One of my fave make up artists of all time Melissa Abel was there, she’s bloomin lovely and pretty nifty with her make up artistry too. As it happens she is friends with Jo the bride, and with us all knowing each other, there was a lot of comedy from the off. Steve arrived in good time looking dapper, and as the guests started rolling in, the ceremony was set. In walked Jo, in an absolutely amazing dress, I think the Best Man had to pick Steve’s jaw up off the floor. You could see the sheer unashamed look of love, and uncontrollable shock on his face. A real moment. As was the fact their baby daughter cried at the first kiss bless her. Love stuff like that, not babies crying obviously, just the all the moments captured that the couples will treasure years down the line. I’m pleased to tell you babe was fine and laughing within 10 seconds of the photo being taken! The rest of the day just flew by, the guests mingled and we literally had to walk 30 seconds to find a spot for some photos. You can’t go too far when you have a relatively brand new baby in tow on your wedding day, those little blighters need feeding. Lots. I’ve got 2 daughters myself, and they are spirited that’s for sure! The day went super soothly, and Emily and The Norfolk Mead gang did a top job of keeping everyone fed and watered, including me. Which reminds me the food at this place is incredible too! I’m still dreaming about Pork Belly, a personal favourite of mine and indulged with delight at the wedding. As you can see, Jo and Steve are clearly meant to be. A little waltz on the driveway of The Norfolk Mead, captured in time and something they’ll always fondly remember.
