Shakespeare’s The Globe | Helen & Ben | London Wedding
As a Norfolk based photographer, it’s not every day you get asked to photograph a wedding in London at The Shakespeare’s Globe. And when the reception is smack bang on the Thames with the Millennium bridge to play with, my heart was filled with excitement. No country roads or fields today folks, we’re going urban! It’s probably good time to mention of you are looking for a destination wedding photographer, I am more than happy to travel. Places I’m yet to photograph: Mauritius, Italy, Mexico, Paradise etc etc. you get the drift! Anyway, that’s enough about me, let’s talk about these darls, Helen and Ben. The lucky couple who were to be married on this….rainy day again! I keep hearing it’s the hottest Summer on record, what I can tell you is today presented me with the loudest crack of thunder I’ve ever heard! As I was travelling light in terms of my photography equipment, I forgot to pack some spare pants. To be fair I think all the guests thought London was under attack too, but as is ever the case in good old Blighty, the weather turned on a sixpence. The ceremony was at Chiswick town hall earlier in the day, and I literally popped to see the girls in the vintage hairdressers early doors. We went back to the flat where they were getting ready and it was all super chilled, listening to tunes and doing some weightlifting in the front room. I’m not even making that up! After the ceremony it was the classic routemaster red bus into London Town as the heavens opened up properly. We arrived at the adjoining pub to The Globe, which understandably is called Shakespeare’s The Globe. And for that reason the weather mattered not anyway, with everything being indoors, but a break allowed us 20 minutes to pop out onto the millennium bridge for a few couple photos. Helen and Ben were chuffed to bits with the results, after some gentle coaxing and a bit of Prosecco these camera shy lovelies were nailing it within minutes. Such an awesome day, I hope see you soon London! Grab some biccies and a cuppa and enjoy a selection of their wedding images right away.
