Rob & Kate | Wedding | The Barn At Woodlands

Hello again my photography chums, hope you are all well and happy and enjoying our long overdue summer. It’s good to be back to give you a wedding photography update and the latest instalment charting the whereabouts of me, myself and I at James Powell Photography. Here we have the simply gorgeous wedding of Kate and Rob, starting in Salhouse and finishing in Stokesby. I’m sure every wedding photographer says this, but genuinely, Rob and Kate were such great sports and awesome fun I really did have the best day. I think it’s fair to say that laughter was not in short supply on their wedding day. The morning began with me turning up to the folks’ house to photograph Kate and her crew getting ready, and a wonderful welcome it was. In fact I was told that I felt like part of the furniture when I’d only been there half an hour…I’m not sure if that was a hint for me to get in the gym as I’m the size of a wardrobe, or in fact they just felt comfortable with me around. In fact I even knew one of the bridesmaids by proxy, with my wife knowing and working with her. Good old Norfolk! We’re all related in some distant (and sometimes not so distant *ahem*) way. Anyway, a great morning was had and I skipped across to All Saints Church in Salhouse for the wedding ceremony. I had to stand at the back for the ceremony, but I stealthily grabbed some shots from the rear of the Church and to be honest it wasn’t a problem. It was nice to have a different viewpoint and I managed to get the girls walking up the aisle and the vows and the kiss and most importantly, the emotion. Then after the ceremony we flew across to The Barn At Woodlands in Stokesby for the wedding reception. The weather was on side, the Prosecco and Pimm’s was flowing, and the guests were beaming. The venue itself and the way they had decorated it, was just delightful. It was my first visit to the venue apart from meeting there previously, and I have to say I was extremely impressed. Such a smashing place to have a reception if you are ever considering it, a beautiful blank canvas with some lovely gardens in bloom, but as always it was the people that set the wedding alight.
